Addonics Ruby
$115.99
Released January, 2010
The Pros:Durable aluminum enclosure. Nice aesthetic with a minimalist matte paintjob. Features the current fastest eSATA connection allowing for speeds up to that of an internal SATA disk.
The Cons:No external connectivity options other than eSATA. Bottom cover gets scratched fairly easily by poorly machined dock metal. ESATA doesn't provide power and thus must be plugged in to work (via AC wallwart adapter or USB to power cable).
The Ruby is an external 2.5" SATA hard disk enclosure from Addonics. Featuring an eSATA connection the Ruby also comes with a dock-like SATA connection that is designed to work with a compatible internal drive bay.
