The Apple Time Capsule is a dual-band wireless backup server that automatically logs changes made to your system everyday. It utilizes a Mac OS X Leopard or Snow Leopard program called Time Machine to automatically locate the Time Capsule (or any other locally connected HDD) and use it as a backup server.

It was originally released in January 2008, but has since undergone several changes, with the current version featuring simultaneous dual-band (2.4GHz/5GHz) wireless connectivity, Apple’s AirPort Utility for quick wireless setup, and a guest account. Keep in mind that the Capsule can also be utilized as a conventional network hard drive; included on it are Gigabit Ethernet ports, as well as a USB interface for connecting a network printer or iPhone/iPod.
