Buffalo DriveStation Axis USB 3.0

The Buffalo DriveStation Axis USB 3.0 is an external desktop hard drive that uses fast USB 3.0 transfer and is retroactively compatible with USB 2.0. It features a sleek fanless design for silent operation, blue operation LED, and can be placed either vertically or horizontally.

A suite of software is included called Buffalo Tools which offers utilities such as configurable Buffalo backup program, ECO Manager power saving utility, RAMDISK program for creating virtual RAM on your PC to increase file transfer speed and TurboPC which can increase data speeds of USB 2.0 and 3.0 by up to 180 per cent. It comes preformatted for Windows making it plug and play, and is compatible with Mac Time Machine as well. SecureLock encryption software is also included which lets you set a password to protect the drive contents. Axis USB 3.0 was announced early in 2011 along with three other drives. The MiniStation Stealth USB 3.0 which is pocket sized and bus powered, and two multiple drive 'server' units that use RAID technology and are aimed at professional and home users.
