The Iomega Prestige Portable is a pocket sized external hard drive that is designed to be durable despite any clumsy owner. It features the Iomega Drop Shock feature and a aluminum construct, both contributing to make it resistant to falls.

It comes in three different size capacities, 160GB, 250GB, 320GB and 500GB. It is plug and play, which means it is ready to go right out of the box and it doesn't require an AC adaptor. Compatible with both USB 2.0 and 1.1, the Iomega Prestige portable has a transfer rate of 480 Mbits/s and comes with the ability to download management software. EMC Retrospect Express or Retrospect Express HD are the backup management software offered to help less comptuer savvy consumers manage their new device.

#iomega_prestige_portable My first iomega purchase revealed terribly catastrophic. After only three months, it wouldn't be recognized although the light came on and could hear some noise. 'Computer send Over Current Notice: a USB device is currently drawning too much power. The hub to which it is attached to will be de-activated'. The vendor could replace it for me but at the cost of loosing all my data. Iomega would not answer my email. I'd advise you contact the for a live chat. They could not do anything, not even trying to repair nor giving me a discount for data recovery. When I finally opened the box myself a loose some piece was inside. Is this what you expect from a hard drive and company's customer service?
Andd yes, I did doubled my backups, sadly this happened after my desktop PC had to be recovered.
