ioSafe Rugged Portable

The ioSafe Rugged Portable is a storage device built to be portable and handle some physical abuse. The solid casing is built to take up to 5,000 pounds of crushing force without the drive's functionality being impaired, and it can be dropped from a height of up to 20 feet without damage.

Protection from water damage has also been built in, with the ability to be immersed in water up to 30 feet deep for up to 3 days without permanent problems. In cases where damage is accrued during the warranty period, a data recovery service is available from the manufacturer for up to $5,000 worth of damages. Connecting to the device works through a standard USB 2.0, 3.0 or FireWire connection. Both standard Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and faster Solid State Drive (SSD) versions are available.
