The LaCie Petit Hard Disk is a high-end portable hard drive, released in late 2009. Two capacities are available; a 320GB and 500GB version. This product features USB 2.0 connectivity, allowing users to access the drive’s contents from just about anywhere.

Users can expect data transfers up to 480Mbits/s, which is approximately 60MB/s when it comes to transferring files. The Petit is enclosed in a sleek aluminum housing, which has been designed to protect the device. The LaCie Petit is compatible with both PC and Mac, and therefore includes complimentary software for each platform. LaCie’s Setup Assistant is a straight-forward formatting tool, while Backup Assistant is for semi-automated backup. A data cable and quick install guide is included in the box.
