LaCie SAFE Hard Disk

The LaCie SAFE Hard Disk is designed to keep data safe from casual meddling or determined prying. It comes with three security levels. A chain lock port allows a seperately sold chain lock to secure the external drive to a desk, preventing it from being physically stolen.

An internal drive lock keeps the device safe while the biometric access control keeps the data itself secure by requiring a matching fingerprint for access.  The LaCie SAFE Hard Disk allows up to five users to be allowed access to the drive, giving the consumer the freedom to use the external drive with work groups or family members.  It comes with 500GB of space, 7200 rpm, 16MB cache, and a interface transfer rate of 480Mbits/s.
