LaCie Skwarim

The LaCie Skwarim was designed by Karim Rashid.  It comes in two very bright colors, blue and pink, and has an exterior that looks like it belongs on a fashion runway, not an external hard drive.  It could easily be mistaken for a kids notebook with its compact, soft-touch square case.

  It has a small capacity of just 60 GB which is reflected by its small pocket size.  This would be a great gift for a high school student who needs something that doesn't look like an expensive piece of electronic equipment.  The LaCie Skwarim has a High-Speed USB 2.0 interface with an integrated USB cable, a rotational speed of 4200, a 2MB or greater cache, an interface transfer rate of up to 480 Mbits/s, a max sustained transfer rate of up to 20MB/s, and a weight of 3.5 oz.
