LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive

The LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive is one of two chic hard drives (Desktop Hard Drive, Mobile Hard Drive) released in October 2009. Both units were designed by LaCie and designer Philippe Starck. In particular, the Mobile Hard Drive is geared for portability, as it hosts a lightweight and small frame with a built-in USB cable.

Critics appreciate the unit’s chic look and brushed aluminum enclosure, but have noted that the sharp edges post a risk to users and their laptop. Regardless, additional features include a storage capacity up to 640GB, and a bevy of built-in software applications like Intego Backup.
