Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Pro

The FreeAgent GoFlex Pro is a portable hard drive from Seagate, released in mid-2010. This 7200RPM drive can be used with USB 3.0, FireWire 800 or eSATA through separately purchased adapters. A USB 2.0 adapter and cable is included.

Compared to the standard FreeAgent GoFlex, the Pro model offers what Seagate calls “premium-grade” backup and encryption software provided by Memeo. Backup with the Pro model is file-based, meaning users have more control over what files can be archived. Other advantages with the Pro version include access to files through Windows and Mac systems at the same time. Embedded “NTFS for Mac OS” eliminates the need for HFS+ formatting on the GoFlex Pro. This hard drive is compatible with Seagate’s GoFlex TV HD Media Player and Net Media Sharing Device products, enabling users to watch video on their HDTVs or share files on the internet. The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex is currently available in 500GB and 750GB capacities, with black as the only color choice.
