SimpleTech Pro Drive

The SimpleTech Pro Drive is an external hard drive designed for use with professional applications such as audio and video editing. Available capacities include 500GB, 750GB and 1TB and a quad of interfaces is also featured including USB 2.0, Firewire 800, Firewire 400 and 3Gbit eSATA.

eSATA makes possible the fast recording and loading of large amounts of data which typically might be video and audio files. A smart fan is included in the chassis for heat dissipation and a security lock slot is located on the back so you can lock it up. Like other variations of the Pro Drive, the design is made for stacking so multiple units can be stacked together. AC power is provided by the included adapter and an ambient activity LED is located on the front.

Fabrik Ultimate Backup software is included which can automatically backup your files to a free 2GB online account. Unlimited accounts require a monthly fee of about five dollars. Fabrik Local Backup is a program that also ships with the unit which is a local version of the same program. It can be configured to backup different file types from different locations on the computer to your Pro Drive while running in the background. These come preformatted for Windows XP and Vista so Mac users will require reformatting before using.
