Verbatim CLON

$100.00 Released October, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:7 year warranty, that is longer than just about every external drive on offer. Strong performance, keeps up with products from Iomega and Seagate, whilst being cheaper. The case is fingerprint and scratch resistant.

The Cons:The bundled software is not available for download from the company website, nor does it comes on a CD, if the drive is reformatted, the software is lost.

The Verbatim CLON is a portable USB 2.0/1.1 flash drive that weighs less than 5-ounces, features a piano black finish, and is less than 5” in length. It’s practically a duplicate of the InSight, except that the CLON doesn’t have a display.

Plus it’s available in smaller (down to 320GB) and larger (up to 750GB) capacities. Like its counterpart, the drive comes with Nero BackItup essentials for enhanced data protection, automatic system backups, and system restore. One notable distinction between the Verbatim CLON and its counterpart is that, incidentally enough, tests show it to have a much better average transfer rate of 59.5MB/s (versus 28.3). On the other hand, it has a slower 18.4ms (versus 16.7) access time.
