The Verbatim SureFire FireWire 800/USB is a 5400RPM external/portable hard-disc drive built for transferring and/or storing files. An upgrade from the weaker FireWire 400/USB, this model instead relies on a 9-pin IEEE 1394b port, which offers a much faster data transfer rate up to 800 Mb/s.

It also hosts a USB 2.0 interface with 1.1 backwards-compatibility. Like its peer, the FireWire 800/USB requires no external power, as it is receives energy directly from a connected computer unit. And it’s also made from lightweight, durable, and rugged aluminum—making it easy to store AND transport. It retails in three sizes: 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB.
