The Verbatim USB Portable Hard Drive is available in capacities ranging from 160GB to 500GB. This portable drive is palm-sized, and thus designed for users who need to take their data with them. This product is also aimed at users looking to increase the storage capacity of their computer without opening the case.

The exterior is made of silver-painted plastic, giving it a sleek appearance. When connected via USB 2.0, these 5400 RPM drives can achieve data transfer rates up to 480 MB/s, or 12MB/s if connected through USB 1.1. Verbatim’s USB Portable hard drives are bus powered, meaning no external power source is required. Unlike Verbatim’s Premiere Edition hard drives, Nero’s backup software is not included. Users will have to obtain their own software to automate the backup process, or add drive sync or encryption.
