Western Digital My Passport Essential SE

$250.00 Released October, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:USB 3 compatibility doubles or triples the transfer rate, true as advertised. Very compact form factor for 1TB or even 750GB storage. Stylish and sleek aesthetic looks great.

The Cons:Included backup software is at times difficult to navigate, not as intuitive as competing brands. Packaged USB cable is very short so spacing can sometimes be an issue. Some computers (laptops especially) may lack sufficient power output from a single USB drive for this device.

The Western Digital My Passport Essential SE is an ultra-portable, high-capacity external hard drive built for both Windows and Macintosh desktop or notebook computers. It is available in two high capacity sizes (750GB/1TB) and utilizes a USB 2.0 interface to connect and transmit data at up to 480 Mb/s.
