The Pros:Setup is simple, just plug-and-play. Doesn't force you to use a cumbersome bit of backup software - can be used as an extra large thumb drive. Small, slim, and light enough to be carried around in your bag along with a laptop.
The Cons:Firewire jack is a little loose. Sliding cover for the jacks is made of cheap plastic.
The Western Digital My Passport Studio model is a high-end external hard drive that is designed for both in-home, and business use. The Passport Studio hard drive is built with a very slim and compact body that is encompassed in a slip-free soft touch finish so that the drive is easier to grip.

It features an available, 500GB, 400GB, or 320GB storage capacity, with an 8mb drive cache and a speed of 5400rpm. The Passport Studio hard drive comes with support for safe shutdown software which prevents the hard drive from being shut down while files are being transferred, an energy efficient functionality that automatically turns the hard drive on and off with the connected computer, and plug and play storage functionality which means that it is compatible with all PC's and Mac's without any lengthy installation. Western Digital also claims the Passport Studio drives are compatible with a large variety of gaming consoles as well. The Passport Studio models include interface support for Firewire 400, 800 and USB 2.0 to provide maximum compatibility options. In addition the Passport Studio hard drive models also come with a built in illuminated capacity gauge, full compatibility with Apple Time Machine back up software, and special mac formatting for true Mac user support (can be easily reformatted for windows).
